The trade deadline date is here in Major League Baseball. The 2022 MLB trading deadline is set or 6 p.m. ET on Tuesday (August 2), meaning teams have less than four hours to bolster their roster ahead of the knockouts. in August and September. This year’s business fortune is not short of intrigues or names. The biggest name of all – Juan Soto – is on the move. About six hours ahead of schedule, the Nationals and Padres agreed to a deal that would send Soto (and Josh Bell) to San Diego and a host of top prospects to Washington.

Willson Contreras, Ian Happ and Noah Syndergaard are some other notable names that could be moving on Tuesday night.

Deals will fly on Tuesday, but some teams haven’t waited to close the business. The Yankees were one of the busiest teams in the MLB ahead of time, buying boot star Frankie Montas, quarterback Andrew Benintendi and curators Lou Trivino and Scott Effross, while sending Joey Gallo to the Dodgers. Before the soto deal, Padres surprised when he bought Josh Hader from Brewers. The Mariners, meanwhile, have made waves when trading for Luis Castillo, the top starting player available.
