October looks like a pretty good month for Switch owners if last week’s Nintendo Direct Mini is anything to go by. During the Partner Launch, we confirmed the release date for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope and confirmed that PlayStation 4 classic NieR: Automata will receive a port named NieR: Automata The End of YoRHa Edition.

Released on October 20 and October 6 respectively, these dates seem a long way off, but the game’s Fall will soon be upon us. And we already know about how much space both of these releases will take up.

Starting with Ubisoft’s surprise Mario strategy shooter sequel, Sparks of Hope’s Gold Edition is tipped to take over 7.1 GB space on your Switch (or Micro SD card). Original – Mario Kingdom Battle + Rabbids – is very small in comparison, at about 2.3 GB. Even Donkey Kong Adventure The DLC just adds another 1.5GB to the original size. So we should expect a strong campaign from an already stunning game!

NieR: On the other hand, Automata appears around 10.9 GB. It’s a bit smaller than much larger Dragon Quest XI – another Square Enix Switch port – has a capacity of about 13.5GB. Yoko Taro and PlatinumGames’ PS4 action role-playing game is aiming to run at 30fps both when docked and not mounted on a Nintendo console.

Comparing the game to Platinum’s other Switch releases, NieR: Automata is a bit bigger than the two of them. Bayonetta and Chain of soulsabout 8.5GB and 9.6GB respectively. Bayonetta 2however, a bit larger, up to about 12.4GB in size.

Don’t forget that these file sizes can change close to the release, but this should give you a good idea of how much space you might want to make in time for the two releases.
