Thursday agreement with Kyle Anderson providing for Timberwolves 15 players under contract, but they don’t complete out-of-season moves, according to The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski. Minnesota is still entering the market for another major player and has spoken to Jazz About Rudy Gobertsource told Krawczynski.
Although the Wolves used the first pick against Auburn’s Walker Kessler, they wanted to add a veteran striker so there wasn’t too much pressure on Kessler to produce right away. Minnesota’s talks with Utah over Gobert began before the draft, but the Jazz are demanding a lot in return for their longtime Defensive Player of the Year nominee. If the Wolves can’t trade for Gobert, Krawczynski quotes Pacers‘ Myles Turner and Eagle‘ Clint Capela as other options, though he added that Minnesota’s negotiations with Atlanta haven’t gone very far.
