With recent updates in iOS 15, on-device Siri is surprisingly consistent when it comes to tasks across devices like setting timers, alarms, reminders, and calling people. In fact, making calls is something Siri has always done well, and it works equally well for cell phones or FaceTime calls. Now, with a new feature in iOS 16, Siri can also end calls for you hands-free. This is really helpful if you talk a lot on your iPhone speakers or if you use wireless headphones like AirPods or Beats.
(Note: This is a feature of iOS 16 and is currently only available as public beta. With the public release of iOS 16 expected in the fall, it will be available to any compatible iPhone globally.)
Once you’ve installed iOS 16, go to Setting > Siri & Search > End a Siri Call and activate”End a Siri Call“feature. Now say the words”Hey Siri, hang up“To call to sleep. Of course, the caller will also hearing those words, it sounds a little strange to them, but you can decide for yourself Is that little awkwardness worth it? it Handsfree convenience and freedom.
If you don’t see this feature in Settings, it’s probably not supported by your device. According to Apple, only iPhone 11 and above are supported. But older iPhones can use this feature along with AirPods and Beats headphones that support the Hey Siri feature. Initially, the feature was also limited to the following seven languages: German, English, Spanish, French, Japanese, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
