Philadelphia minor’s failed theft turns violent, man shot whereas with girl and child: report

A man was shot in Philadelphia early Monday during a botched robbery while he was with a woman and a baby, according to local reports.

Philadelphia police told Fox 29 that the report of the incident came at 12:10 a.m

First responders found a 23-year-old man shot in the shoulder in the Old City neighborhood. It was reported that a private vehicle drove him to the hospital.

Authorities told the news outlet that the woman had dropped her cell phone and tried to pick it up when a minors try to steal it.

Juvenile suspect draw a gun and fire five times in the woman and the victim, police said. The report said the victim, who had a gun license, did not draw her weapon because the couple had a young child in the vehicle.

No arrests have yet been made. Investigators believe the suspect fled with a group of minors after the shooting.

They are looking for seven juvenile suspects, the news release said.
