State legislators go new limits on fireworks

State lawmakers are giving their final approval of new restrictions on fireworks but the rules won’t apply because fireworks over the weekend of July 4 take place across Pennsylvania . The House of Representatives voted 163 to 37 on Friday to send the legislation to Democratic Governor Tom Wolf’s desk. The governor’s press secretary said he plans to review it. The law will take effect after two months. Before the 2017 law change, fireworks in Pennsylvania were mostly limited to fireworks and similar novelties. The changes allow for the sale of a full range of fireworks that meet federal consumer standards but also trigger complaints of misuse.
