Winnetka crash: LAFD says 3 lifeless, a minimum of 6 injured in multi-vehicle collision on Vanowen Avenue

WINNETKA, LOS ANGELES (KABC) – Three men were killed and at least six others injured in a multi-vehicle collision in Winnetka on Sunday night, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Three people died at the scene, the LAFD said. Six other patients are likely to have serious injuries, but all are in stable condition. However, the LAPD listed a total of seven people injured.

The LAFD said the two men killed were both 30 years old and the third man who died in the crash was 25 years old. Their names have not been released.

Home surveillance video captured the accident. The footage shows a vehicle traveling at high speed swerving into the oncoming lane and crashing into two cars.

LAPD’s Andrew Neiman told Eyewitness News a dark Ford Explorer was traveling east on Vanowen Road, and due to speeding, the driver lost control as the vehicle crossed the stretch at Corbin Avenue.

“The speed limit is 35. So based on speed, that Explorer lost control, was actually traveling in the westbound lanes, and collided with a Toyota Tacoma van with four people in it,” Neiman said. car,” Neiman said. “That caused the Ford Explorer to start rolling. Then it collided with another vehicle, an Audi.”

Three of the four people in the Ford Explorer were ejected and died. Neiman said the fourth person, the only person wearing a seat belt, survived the collision with minor injuries.

The four occupants of the truck were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two other people involved in the crash – a pregnant woman and her husband – were taken away as a precaution, Neiman said.

There are no further details about the crash.
